Why twenty-eight is more than a number

There are only twenty-eight points in the pack. A Jack is worth three, a nine two, and an Ace or ten one. Everything else must earn its place another way: leading a safe suit, protecting a partner, or drawing a valuable card out of the other side. It is a small set of ingredients with a generous amount to talk about. This editorial is a draft, not a collected player story.
